Hello! Welcome to my counselor site. I am so excited to meet you.

Who am I?

My name is Marianne Taylhardat, pronounciation: TIE-lar-dat. With students, I go by Mrs. T—Taylhardat is a mouthful! I am a former teacher and current school counselor. I have worked with all ages of students from pre-Kindergarten up to 12th grade. I am so excited to be a Huntsville Hound!

This website showcases my work, progression as a professional school counselor and my views, beliefs and goals therein. It serves as both an advertisement and a testament to the work I do with students. I have a page dedicated to my research, the social-emotional curriculum I am developing, I Like Me, Just How I am.

Please contact me with any questions that you may have about my work or if I can assist you.

My beliefs:

My vision--

I believe every child can succeed if given the support they need. I believe in fostering students’ interpersonal knowledge to be stronger and more resilient. I believe in accepting and valuing each person’s diversity and unique gifts.

My mission--

My plan is to develop a long term sustainable counseling program based on the ASCA model* that guides academic achievement, career and interest development as well as providing social-emotional learning.

*The ASCA national model guides school counselors to provide direct and indirect services to students 80% of the time. The remaining 20% includes the time to provide the foundation, management, accountability and wide ranging school support efforts needed to maintain the school counseling program.
